Maison des arts et de la culture de Beyrouth par l'architecte italien Alberto Catalano de Teknoarch.

La Maison des arts et de la culture de Beyrouth commandité par le Ministère libanais de la Culture, financé par le Sultanat d'Oman est prévue pour 2013. La proposition de l'équipe milanaise est apprécié de par son approche subtile. L’idée est de concevoir le bâtiment comme une place, un « non-bâtiment » et son intégration dans le tissu urbain qui répond à l’un des principaux objectifs du programme : associer le public à la vie de l’édifice. Sont prévus: deux théâtres, un cinéma, un espace temporaire pour l'exposition, une bibliothèque, une cinémathèque, des bureaux de gestion, un restaurant et un parking souterrain sur plusieurs niveaux.



"Un bâtiment pour les arts et la culture peut être conçu, à notre avis, à partir de deux de concept diamétralement opposé. Le premier est celui d'un conteneur neutre et souple, silencieux, l'outil, le cadre, l'espace vide à remplir avec de nouveaux événements: expositions, spectacles, concerts, etc. Le deuxième concept est cette valeur artistique de l'hôte lui même, de l'usager en lui attribuant une dimension poétique, expressive, communicative, une qualité symbolique."
